On May 2, 2025, a little dream tucked inside a capsule finally came to life — Gachapon Seattle officially opened its doors, bringing a slice of Japanese kawaii culture to the heart of the city. But what made this day even more special wasn’t just the colorful machines, the rare collectibles, or the long-awaited excitement.
It was opening the shop hand-in-hand with my kids.
Because this wasn’t just a business launch.
It was a family milestone.
A Family Dream Turned Reality
The idea for Gachapon Seattle started as a simple wish — to create a place filled with joy, surprise, and nostalgia. Something small that brings big happiness. Something fun that doesn’t need a purchase plan, a schedule, or a reason… just a twist of a knob and a moment of excitement.
As a mom, I wanted a place where my kids could feel the magic of little things again — and where families, collectors, and curious visitors could experience the same happiness.
So when opening day arrived, my kids were right there with me:
